Have you tried to make the image on your Facebook post clickable and it wasn't? It can be frustrating.

I tried and tried and eventually figured out the problem. Sometime it would work and sometime it would not.

One way around this is to simply have the image you want to use be the social sharing image for that page.

You simply insert a piece of code in the header that tells the sites what image to pull when someone links to that page.

It will automatically make that image clickable when you post the link to the page in your Facebook post.

The code to use is below.

It needs to be pasted into the Header section of your code.

Simply replace the link to the image with the direct link to the image you want to use for that page automatically.

Many webpage editors these days have a place to specify what image you want to use for social sharing. Depending on what you are using you may need a different way.

One thing to be sure of is the size of the file. If you use a 16x9 ration you'll be fine but otherwise the image will be distorted when it's shared.

I suggest you play with it a bit until you get it right before you make that perfect post to the world. You can always set a post to only show to yourself so that you will be the only person that is able to see it so that you can test that the image is clickable to the page on your new post.

The fancy word for this is called using the Open Graph Protocol.
